This coming weekend you are invited to bring the Christ Child figure from your Nativity scene to Mass to be blessed. This tradition comes from Rome where on the Third Sunday of Advent, children gather with their families in St. Peter’s Square for Bambinelli Sunday. The children bring the figure of the Christ Child from their Nativity scene and the pope blesses the children and figurines during the noontime Angelus prayer. Because there were many adults who also wished to bring their figurine last year we are opening it to everyone and not just children this year! And if your family would like to carry the Christ Child for the parish Nativity scene in the opening procession for the Christmas masses please sign up in the St. Joseph room or call the parish office.
