I was born on the east side of Cleveland in the city of Euclid. My Dad was a machinist for TRW and my Mom had a vast array of jobs from dipping ice cream to the bartender at the Clevelander Club high atop the Erieview Tower. I have an older sister who is a minister for the United Church of Christ in Medina, Oh and a younger brother who works for UNISYS.
I graduated from Euclid Senior High in 1975 and immediately left home. I spent my summer in Ft. Lauderdale Florida before joining the Navy in August 1975. After my initial training I spent my entire career in Hawaii, where I met Gin my wife of 37 years. We have two sons, Richard, who still lives in Hawaii, and Jamie, who lives with his wife and three children in Charlotte, NC.
After I left the Navy in 1983, I began a career as a programmer in the IT field. In 1993 my friend and I started a network installation company. Our main client at that time was NCR. After that venture I started a little shop in LaGrange that offered about anything you could ask for, printing, sports clothing, computers, cell phones, UPS shipping.
I joined Our Lady Queen of Peace (still IC at the time) in August 2006 and have been here since. I really enjoy my position with the church because it has allowed me invite some very special people into my life. This church is my family.
